Airfield Farm and Gardens:

Casey O’Rourke Associates have been appointed as Structural Engineers for the re-development of Airfield House and its Estate. The works to Airfield Farm and Gardens includes the refurbishment of the existing house along with the construction of  a number of new buildings to house the Restaurant, Education Centre and Farm Buildings.

All structures are intended to be as close as possible to carbon neutral with a predominate use of timber in the buildings and to attempt to minimise the use of steel, concrete or blockwork. This will be achieved by the use of Glulam timber, clay blocks, low cement content concrete and small steel sections where required.

The project was completed in July 2013 and is shortly to open to the public.
